The Willamette Valley anchors Oregon’s agricultural economy. A patchwork of fruit, nut, grain, vegetable, dairy, livestock and grass seed farms supplies growing communities in Oregon and across the world. Locally, future population growth will increase competition and conflict over land use. How can commercial farms and growing urban communities co-exist? What is the social contract between them? Do we need new land use rules to define the urban/rural transition?

Andrew Martin, Bald Hill Farm, Inc., Corvallis

Peter Kenagy (invited), Kenagy Family Farms Inc., Albany
